How a Little Nonprofit Learned to Thrive Amid a Pandemic

Frank Bell is the staff executive director for Elevate St. Louis, who is building long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth, equipping them to thrive and contribute to their community. Frank’s life can be summed up by his organization’s slogan, “No one gets there alone”. Every accomplishment he has achieved has always come by working alongside people who work for the good of their communities.

Frank is a St. Louis native and graduate of Metro High School. He left St. Louis in 1985 to attend Iowa State University where he earned bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. For thirty years Frank invested himself into meaningful work high education, nonprofit leadership and community development. On February 1, 2017, Frank became the first Executive Director of Elevate St. Louis. In August 2018, the organization launched its programs at McCluer High School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. 

He is the proud husband of Rosa S. Bell. The couple has been married for thirty years and they have a son (30) and a daughter (20). Frank believes his family is his first priority. He gives his first best to his family and then he gives his next best to everything else.
